How to use the Instagram Ringtone Maker

Make a short ringtone from an audio file you own by trimming it in your browser and exporting a WAV file. Output is WAV only — iPhone M4R export is not currently supported, and this page does not claim otherwise.

Steps

Choose an audio file you own or are authorised to use (30 MB maximum).
Set a short start and end time. Keeping the clip to about 30 seconds or less works best on most phones.
Make sure Trim / ringtone (WAV) is selected, then select Process audio.
Preview the clip, download the WAV file, and move it to your phone's ringtones folder.

Supported inputs and outputs

Inputs: audio files your browser can decode (MP3, WAV, M4A, and similar).
Output: PCM WAV at the source file's sample rate and channel count.
WAV ringtones work on Android devices that accept WAV ringtones. iPhone ringtones require M4R, which this tool does not produce.
Files are processed on your device and are not uploaded by this tool.

Troubleshooting

If an iPhone will not accept the file, that is the format limit: iPhones need M4R, and this tool exports WAV only.
A clip that is too long may be rejected by a phone. Trim it shorter and try again.
A file that will not decode needs a browser-supported format — try a WAV or MP3 version.
